The Story

November 7th- It was Jenny's birthday.

We had both come home from work and were a bit starving. I had given her birthday present to her in the morning so she was just expecting a nice dinner out that night. Instead, I said "Would you like another present?"

She unwrapped her present which was a framed portrait I had drawn of the two of us together. She thoug
ht it was very sweet but seemed a little confused since I wasn't saying anything about it. She started to look it over and noticed on the back hidden underneath the frame stand was a little blue post-it note sticking out. She pulled it out and it read "You should check your email."

She grabbed her laptop and opened up her email, and found a letter from JDate.com
(the dating website where we met) sitting in her inbox with the subject "You Have a New Admirer!" The email looked exactly like the notices we used to get when potential dates would message us on the website. It said that Pixel8edGreg, a 27 year old male from Sherman Oaks is interested in you! Click here to see more! She clicked the link and opened a complete mockup of the JDate site which displayed my dating profile from when we met. (of course that account had been canceled long ago) She read through the profile and saw that there was a new personal video section. Playing the video started me off talking about my perfect girl: the smile, the eyes, the things we'd like to do. As I'm talking, my favorite photos of her start floating by on screen. At the end of the video it concludes by saying "If there's anyone out there who thinks that they fit this description, I just have one question for you: Will you open this box?"

Back in real life, I hand her a large round hat-box shaped gift. Thoroughly confused, Jenny opens the box and pulls out her favorite stuffed animal, Gulliver, a brown puppy. Still bewildered, she goes to give Gulliver a hug when she notices the silver engraved heart-shaped dogtag hanging around his neck that reads "will you marry me?"... and the diamond ring hanging behind it.

Jenny says yes.

Then melts.

Wait a minute, Gulliver was the one that popped the question, shouldn't Jenny be engaged to him? Either way they would make a cute couple. All the best to you guys, I am so happy for you!
